An Extract from the 6th lecture of Michaelmas 2025 Lectures, Forum 3, Stuttgart.

We will start again with hearing the German version of the renewed Foundation Stone, which you will find in the book, on display at the entrance, published by Ereignis Verlag, Die Grundsteinlegung der Michael-Bewegung im 21. First of all, I would like to remind you that today is Michaelmas 2025, the year that we experienced as so profoundly fruitful. We mentioned yesterday that on March 30th of this year, we celebrated the centenary of Rudolf Steiner’s death. This means that the cycle 3 times 33 years, the full cycle of death and resurrection, has come to a closure. And this means that what was given a century ago has come to its final fulfillment, and what was transformed and resurrected from its legacy, has become an integral part of the new Michaelic impulses. The old anthroposophy, that died in the grave of civilization in the 20th century, to the extent that it was resurrected in our hearts, can being now to fully unite with the new Michaelic impulse, if the two streams meet in our hearts. Recall also that in Michaelmas 2024, we celebrated the centenary of Rudolf Stiener’s last address, that he gave in Michaelmas 1924. It was the end of his external work, as he couldn’t speak publicly any more, until his death in March 30, 1925.
As I showed in detail in my books, The Twilight and Resurrection of Humanity and The Time is at Hand!, during the 9 months that passed from Christmas 1923 to Michaelmas 1924, he hoped that the new Michaelic impulse that begun in the Christmas Foundation Conference 1923, would find open hearts to receive it, and that in these opened hearts, it will lead the new Michaelic impulse through the coming decisive decades, the 20’, 30’, and 40’, through the middle of the 20th century, to open the way to the great Michaelic culmination and the end of century. However, by Michaelmas 1924 it was clear that it was not accepted and that the withdrawal of the new Michaelic impulse from the earth is immanent. Rudolf Steiner last address on Michaelmas’ eve 1924, was short, because he didn't have the power to give a full lecture. It was his last openly spoken word in the physical world in his life time, saying: ‘dear friends, I did everything that I could, but humans have not been able to accept it. From now on I will have to continue the work in the spiritual world, because on the Earth this is no longer possible.’ The new impulse of Michael given in 1923-4, took its leave of the earth, and in March 30th, 1925, it withdrew entirely.
Now, as we stand here at Michaelmas 2025, a year after the centenary of the last Michaelmas, and half a year after the centenary of Rudolf Steiner’s death that we commemorated in Easter 2025, we can experience the new Michaelic impulse. Therefore, this lecture cycle is dedicated to this new impulse, that we have called The new Michaelic century. The new Michaelic century begins when the entire 100 year cycle after Rudolf Steiner’s death is fulfilled. This means that we can direct our best hopes to this starting point of the new Michaelic Impulse, and realize that we are required to base it on a completely new foundation.
In our previous lectures, we characterized, from various points of view, what this new Michaelic impulse means. It means that people honestly striving to make spiritual science into a living force in their life, will find out that their ability to overcome their Ahrimanic intellect and transform dead thinking into living force in real life, is greatly increasing. They can today actualize the transformation of thinking from brain bound head knowledge to living heart wisdom, and they can do it much deeper- and faster- than ever before. This is due to the highly spiritual forces of the renewed Christ impulse that have begun to flow to humanity and the earth at the end of last century, and this flow is increasing continuously since. What is the nature of this new impulse? It is felt most strongly in our etheric body and in the etheric body of the earth, and above all in the free becoming etheric hearts. But if we are not awake, alert, poised and humbly human, courageous and enthusiastic, we will continue to sleep and miss the most important events of our time. This is up to us to decide: will we awake for pity’s sake?
In we wake up, we will know this from our immediate experience, as an essential spiritual fact of the present time: the etheric world today, the aura of the earth, are vibrantly resounding, sprouting, overflowing, with new and highly creative spiritual, soul and life forces. And how can we access these forces and use them in our work and life? Bei connecting our Christ filled hearts with the strong, courageous will of Michael. We will understand it, if we recall that Michael’s strongest wish- as Rudolf Steiner said- is ‘to open the way for thinking from the head to heart’, and let the hearts become the center of transformed thinking. But transformed thinking is ‘love in its spiritual form’, the source of the new moral intuitions, imaginations and praxis, and as we showed in our previous lectures, these highly creative mortal forces of love, can be actualized in social life and community building through the renewed human meeting. The new human meeting and new Michaelic community were founded in the laying of the renewed foundation stone of the Michaelic movement in the 21st century, in Christmas 2023. We have heard the meditation of the renewed foundation stone at the beginning of all our lectures, to imbue our hearts with its substance, and feel how the new Christ impulse is working today through Michael and Anthroposophia.
This is an organic spiritual process of development, in the center of which stands the new Christ impulse, that begun in the spiritual event of the 20th century, in the 12 years, 1933-1945, and increases its intensity since the end of the century. It leads from the 20th to the 21st centuries, from Michael’s first century to his second.
How long it takes to transform and transfer thinking from head to heart depends only on the intensity of our loving, dedicated devotion, invested in this thinking, on the intensity and truthfulness of the love forces of the heart invested in thinking. The Christ-Michael path is made from the etherization of the blood in the heart that flows to the head; it is fired by devotion and love to truth, beauty and goodness, and this stream fires and illuminates the new human meeting and builds the new community. If we think spiritual thoughts, given by the communications of the spiritual scientist, as mere intellectual concepts, we offer them immediately to Ahriman, and as our pride in our ‘spiritual knowledge’ growth, we nourish Lucifer as well. But if each new and old concept of spiritual knowledge that we think is immediately fired by the etheric forces flowing from the heart, the forces of love of truth, if we truly love the truth, beauty and goodness of this knowledge, if its content fires our enthusiasm, inspiration, active and creative will forces, then this knowledge is streaming from our heads to our hearts. The etherized blood flows to the brain, where it spiritualizes our dead Ahrimanic thinking, and this spiritualized thinking flows naturally to the heart, because it was from the beginning fired by the heart forces. As pure, intuitive thinking is truly ‘love in its spiritual form’, it is from the beginning a creation of the etheric heart and etherized blood, and not of the dead brain.
The circuit of love has returned to its starting point, to the heart, enriched with spiritual wisdom, making the etheric heart the center of creative love and healing forces. Think what immense new creative possibilities are opened before us today, when we accomplish this! When spiritual knowledge is fully spiritualized and ripened in our pure, intuitive, thinking, fired by the etherization of blood that flows from the heart, it becomes ‘love in its spiritual form’, the ripest modern fruit of free spiritual activity, demonstrated in The Philosophy of Freedom. Then we begin to connect consciously to the fullness of the new Christ impulse, active in the aura of the earth, enlivening and rejuvenating, resurrecting and healing the earth and humanity, and actualize it in our human meetings in all spheres of social and cultural life. To say that it becomes ‘wisdom of the heart’ would mean that we are still unsung highly abstract concepts, corrupted by our intellectualism, because when we think about wisdom, in our ordinary thinking, we have already killed it. The so called wisdom of the heart, therefore, if it is not mere phrase and cliché, is real if experienced as the fullness, the abondance, the spring source of life forces, not concepts, because in the heart each dead head concept is transformed into etheric force of love, healing, meeting, creativity, compassion, and dedication to the concrete beings and events here and now.
Therefore, these life forces flowing from the heart are the most tangible, concrete, active, actual and functional, forces of creative love, and creative love is healing forces that flows to our hands and limbs, and becomes fully embodied in our actions and deeds of love in the world. The living heart doesn’t think as the dead head does; the thinking of the heart in the etheric heart produces life forces, not mere concepts and ideas. The dead ideas and concepts of the head become life forces of love, healing and blessing in the heart. Then Michael can find his satisfaction for the first time in his present age, when those human hearts of stone are beginning to live and pulse and flourish, and demonstrate that finally some mortals begin, so late, to respond actively and creatively to his century old call: Menschen Mögen es hören!
This is the esoteric significance of the evolution of the Michaelic stream in our time, after a whole century has passed: if the first Michaeli century would have been fulfilled on the Earth in the 20the century, we would have today all around the Earth thousands and millions of people giving expression to the etheric Christ impulse through their fiery etheric hearts. And the name Anthroposophy and spiritual science would have become, as Rudolf Steiner hoped, the name of this creative, healing, brotherhood creating, human meeting and community building, where enthusiastic people are united in spiritual blessing and rejuvenation of all aspects of social life and culture, nature and earth. In any moment in which we connect to the time spirit, we are up-dated, and can fulfil this impulse right here and now: transforming head into heart forces instantaneously, becoming agents of daily healing, joy and blessing, This is really our mission now, to conceive this seed, plant it and tend it, to grow a marvelous Christ-Michael tree of life, that spring forth from the grave of our present civilization.
We can choose to celebrate the great abondance of present spiritual life, and activate our creative forces, right here and now: this is our free choice! Or we can choose to succumb to the immense waves of Ahrimanic fear, paranoia and anxiety, sweeping around the globe and enveloping, submerging human consciousness everywhere, spreading like plague of locusts through all official and social medias. You can choose which world you inhabit, where your souls and hearts, minds and deeds are living and working. You can choose your God, in any moment of your life, it’s up to you, but with the God you choose, you get a totally opposite universe, earth, nature and technology, society, culture and economy. If you are so courageous and truthful to decide and go out of the line- and out of the limb- in the present yawning grave of civilization, and choose as your God the living, active, Christ, and not Ahriman, and if we truly practice this new art of life, you would be surely surprised. We didn’t think about it in any abstract way, we didn’t make plans or intended this, because we were simply too busy in creating and actualizing the new life forces with each other and with the world; but then after we accomplish a bit to daily work, and we look back at our daily accomplishment, small perhaps, preparatory, for sure, as it must be presently, we will know, because this will have become an immediate, absolutely tangible, embodied, communal experience: She is here, she is living and thriving in our midst!
Let us therefore turn now our full attention and all the forces of our etheric hearts and active, love filed, will forces, to observe and describe this surprising experience. Since the renewed Foundation Stone was laid in our etheric hearts in Christmas day of 2023- just short 2 years ago – we have the living, powerful, creative, foundation for the rebirth of the Michaelic movement in the 21st century, and the birth of the universal soul of humanity, this mysterious human being Anthroposophia, that can only be born and develop when absolutely true, robust, practical, brother-and sisterhood prevails in our midst. This is a very deep, fertile, foundation. If we want to prove to ourselves if the new Michaelic impulse is really working through us, and not our common projections and illusions, it’s easy to find out, because there’s an objective proof of this: if She is there, the new Michaelic impulse is working; if She is not there, if true sister-and brotherhood are absent in our community, well, Ahriman is definitely there, enjoying tremendously, with the generous help of brother Lucifer, to assimilate through us and use anthroposophical knowledge to further his nefarious aims.
She is born in human hearts when human hearts meet each other, and when Michael is meeting in our heart the new impulse of the Christ, which could only begin to develop in humanity since the end of last century. And when human beings meet each other in His name, as we described, and when this community is coming about, as we described, only then can She be born. And when you enter this community, when you experience the life forces, the healing forces, the healing of the body, soul and spirit in this community, then you will know: Anthroposophia has been transformed after a century into this force of the heart, the wisdom of the heart, the healing of the heart, and She is there. She is the soul of the true Michaelic movement in the 21st century.
