From the Teaching of the Resurrected Etheric Christ in our Time
First Part
Each year anew, during the seven weeks between Easter and Pentecost, we can experience an intensification of the healing and rejuvenating impulses of Resurrection. In this time the resurrected Etheric Christ teaches his pupils the secrets of his kingdom of new life in an especially intimate way, not only Sub specie aeternitatis, but also in reference to the actual requirments of the present stage of the evolution of humanity. In this time, we can offer Him our respones to His gifts. Our response over the years was described in Cognitive Yoga, The Twilight and Resurrection of Humanity, The Three Meetings, and the 4 volumes of my book, The Modern Christ Experience and the Knowledge Drama of the Second Coming. The sevenfold structure of the 4 volumes reflects the development of His teaching and our response, trying to express, in human language, His appearance, words and deeds, as precisely as possible, and articulate our response, developed and deepened since 1975.
In the first volume, The Modern Christ Experience, we describe the essential teachings of the resurrected Christ. Our response to His teaching is given in volumes 2 an 3, the two parts of The Knowledge Drama of the Second Coming, and in the fourth volume, The Creation of the Earthly- Human Sun, the New Human Meeting and Michaelic Community.
Below is a short sumamry of the essence of the seven parts. You can contemplate them in this order during the seven weeks between Easter and Pentecost.

First Part: The Ur-Mystery of Remembrance
According to Rudolf Steiner’s lectures on the Fifth Gospel, for 40 days, between Easter and Ascension, the resurrected etheric Christ was teaching his disciples in a spiritual way, but they could only perceive His supersensible appearance, words, and deeds among them in a lowered state of consciousness. The disciples could recognize the resurrected Christ for the first time through the awakening illumination of the holy spirit in Pentecost. Now they realized, for the first time: He is the same being with whom we wandered together also in the physical world before the Mystery of Golgotha.
In Christ’s etheric reappearance, almost 2000 years later, in the age of the consciousness soul, the new age of light and the age of Michael, the whole process takes place in wide awake imaginative consciousness. If man develops the new spiritual forces of cognition he can approach the Christ, event in the most preliminary stages, with the light of modern spiritual knowledge, which is the light of the holy spirit. This means that in our time, the 50 days form one whole, because the spiritual light of the holy spirit, given to the disciples only at the end of the 50 days in Pentecost, after Christ’s Ascension, is already given to humanity through modern spiritual science.
Therefore, from the beginning of His teaching, as Christ directs His forces to the awakening of spiritual memory, man can response out of his free spiritual activity; and through the years, the more the reciprocal relations with the etheric Christ develop, the faculty of spiritual memory, and the others as well, grow and mature.
Since the original Christ experience in the week before Easter 1975, we gradually spiritualize our memory of this event. Each year, during the 50 days between Easter and Pentecost, we practice spirit recalling, spirit minding, and spirit seeing; we remember the gracefully given encounter, bring it to the present, active, awareness, and see anew- always in new light- more of the mysteries of His appearance, words and deeds, as He strives to guide human evolution in each year anew.
Second Part: Saul- Paul at the Gates of Damascus
As Rudolf Steiner pointed out, the experience of Paul before the gates Damascus is the archetype of the present experience of the etheric Christ. This is corroborated fully by our experience. Through the modern Christ experience, man experiences first-hand the transformation of Saul to Paul, based on the Ur- polarity of the human constitution. Saul in us is the ever present lower self, revealed through the lesser guardian of the threshold, which constantly admonitions us to practice diligent self-knowledge; and Paul in us is the resurrected true ‘I’, in which the Christ given I dwells, representing the greater guardian of the threshold. The field of tension between both selves and guardians, between Saul and Paul, becomes, with each year, a deeper, more robust foundation and source for the soul forces developed in the knowledge drama of the second coming.
The ever present, active and creative, Polarität and Steigerung, between Saul and Paul in our soul, leads us directly and safely to the mysteries of the second, etheric Mystery of Golgotha, in which the living, etheric Christ, is constantly crucified in us, and must be resurrected through our own forces. Each year, during the 50 days, He renews His teaching concerning this Ur-polarity of human nature, and demonstrates how it can be used for creative and free human development.
Third Part: The Conditions of the Modern Christ Experience- the Evolution of Freedom
The bridge between the physical and spiritual world, portrayed by Goethe in The Fairy Tale the Green Snake and Beautiful Lily, is based on the transformation of the etheric body, that causes a gradual change of the whole human constitution. The transformed etheric body is the deep and strong foundation of the bridge of spiritual memory and continuity of consciousness, whose construction is the main task of the knowledge drama of the second coming.
As Rudolf Steiner pointed out, the etheric body of the head has been gradually released from the physical head since the ancient Greek epoch. In a much shorter time, from 1721 to the end of the 21st century, the etheric heart will have been fully released from the physical heart as well. If we use the released etheric head to spiritualize thinking and perception, we can us it also to spiritualize the greatly released etheric heart. The combined spiritualized forces of the etheric head and heart become the central organ of imaginative perception and cognition. It brings the appearance, words and deeds of the resurrected etheric Christ to full consciousness, and serves as the foundation of the knowledge drama of the second coming, developed, gradually, since 1975. (The subsequent spiritualization of the etheric body of the metabolic-limb system is described in Cognitive Yoga and in the 3rd volume of The Modern Christ Experience and the Knowledge Drama of the Second Coming).
Fourth Part: The Modern Christ Experience- The Meeting with the New Initiator
In the original experience, the meeting came first, and the main body of the teaching was given thought the meeting itself. It was explicated in the 50 days, and became an ongoing process in the coming years. In each new Easter-Pentecost period, His teachings consist in His elaboration and interpretation of this experience, to which we respond, more and more actively and consciously, the more we develop the new spiritual forces of cognition in the knowledge drama of the second coming.
In each year during the 50 days between Easter and Pentecost, this meeting is experienced anew, and in each year it is raised to more saturated, intensive, and clearer imaginative perception. This is the main secret that the etheric Christ teaches his modern disciples: how to cultivate and grow the three golden spirit seeds that He offers today to all people as a free gift of grace, in spirit, soul and body, and build for themselves, through conscious spiritual activity, the modern, fully conscious, faculties of spiritual cognition. In each year, His teaching is further illuminated and explicated, received and assimilated. It increasingly becomes an indwelling part of our spirit, soul and body.
As we show in chapter 4 of the first volume, The Modern Christ Experience, His teaching consists, in essence, in the living demonstration of how He offers a copy of his Ego to modern humans, ‘in the light of the Grail’, that is, in the freely created light of spiritual knowledge. This light is a free human creation, thanks the new impulse of Michael and Anthroposophia that started at the end of last century. When it is actualized and intensified each year, we develop the knowledge drama of the second coming, as our free response to Christ’s teaching. With time, we develop the forces by means of which the second, voluntary meeting, is taking place, and a fully conscious dialogue is established between the etheric Christ, working through Michael, and the forces of the human being Anthroposophia active in our souls.
