From the Teaching of the Resurrected Etheric Christ in our Time
Second Part
In German Wort und Antwort mean: Verantwortun, response-ability in English. This didn’t take place in the last century, the Word of the Gods to humans remained unanswered, and Michael and Anthroposophia were forced in 1925 to withdraw to the etheric world. But it must happen now, if humanity is to achieve the decisive goals of the present age of Michael.
Until the middle of the present century, the second and middle of the three centuries of the present age of Michael, at least a small band of people must accomplish this task to create the seed of the new Michaelic brother-and sisterhood. This must come to pass in the 21st century if humanity is to be resurrected from the ever deepening grave of civilization, to fulfil the true goals of its evolution.
Each year anew, during the seven weeks between Easter and Pentecost, we can experience an intensification of the healing and rejuvenating impulses of Resurrection. In this time the resurrected Etheric Christ teaches his pupils the secrets of his kingdom of new life in an especially intimate way, not only Sub specie aeternitatis, but also in reference to the actual requirments of the present stage of the evolution of humanity. In this time, we can offer Him our respones to His gifts. Our response over the years was described in Cognitive Yoga, The Twilight and Resurrection of Humanity, The Three Meetings, and the 4 volumes of my book, The Modern Christ Experience and the Knowledge Drama of the Second Coming. The sevenfold structure of the 4 volumes reflects the development of His teaching and our response, trying to express, in human language, His appearance, words and deeds, as precisely as possible, and articulate our response, developed and deepened since 1975.
In the first volume, The Modern Christ Experience, we describe the essential teachings of the resurrected Christ. Our response to His teaching is given in volumes 2 and 3, the two parts of The Knowledge Drama of the Second Coming, and in the fourth volume, The Creation of the Earthly- Human Sun, the New Human Meeting and Michaelic Community.
Below is a short sumamry of the essence of the seven parts. You can contemplate them in this order during the seven weeks between Easter and Pentecost.
Fifth Part: The Knowledge Drama of the Second Coming
The second, voluntary meeting with the etheric Christ is described in detail in volumes 2-4 of The Modern Christ Experience and The Knowledge Drama of the Second Coming. This is our answer and response to His gift of grace, that we developed, gradually, since Easter 1975. Each year since 1975, during the holy 50 days, we enhanced and deepened our mediative praxis, diversified and differentiated the knowledge drama according to the changing circumstances. We were striving to develop further the gracefully given spirit, soul and bodily golden spirit seeds. In German Wort und Antwort mean: Verantwortug; In English we say:response-ability. This didn’t take place in the last century, the Word of the Gods to humans remained unanswered, and Rudolf Steiner, Michael, and Anthroposophia were forced to leave the earth and withdraw to the etheric world in 1925. But it must happen in the 21st century, if humanity is to achieve the crucial goals of the present age of Michael.
Therefore, each year, through summer, fall and winter, we develop and prepare a specially formed ‘cultus of knowledge’, a sacred, earnest, and festive process, and offer its fruits, the spiritual bread and wine, during the 50 days, on the altar in the temple of the earthly-human Sun.
This cultus is based on the bridge construction work, accomplished through the years. This bridge has 3 parts: the first, cognitive-etheric part, is created from the head to the heart in the etheric body, through the development of ‘exact head clairvoyance’, as Rudolf Steiner called the unique spiritual scientific form of spiritual cognition. This takes place through the overcoming of the death forces of Ahriman that dominate modern thinking and perception. In this way, the Consciousness Soul, the newest soul member, is transformed into the Imaginative Soul, through which man consolidates his imaginative perception in the etheric body and world.
The second part of the bridge is founded on the formation of the etheric and the astral heart centers. When the three soul forces are separated and coordinated by the true ‘I’, and each is connected to its cosmic archetype, a sixfold soul-organism is created, used to ascend to the soul world. This is accomplished when the Mind Soul is transformed into the Inspirative Soul. In the twelvefold lotus flower formed in the heart, the true, fully conscious ‘heart clairvoyance’ is developed, in which the second, astral-soul part of the bridge is grounded.
In the soul world man confronts the Ahrimanic-Luciferic Doppelgänger, and raises the riddle of man’s divided constitution to the spiritual world, where it can be resolved through the spiritual appearance, words and deeds of the Cosmic Christ. We carry the essence of this gift with us back to the astral and etheric worlds, and prepare ourselves to delve with it into the spiritual formative forces of the physical body.
The third part of the bridge is built through the spiritualization of the metabolic-limb system that sustains the physical body, to create the blueprint of the resurrection body, the phantom. It requires confrontation with the forces of the Asuras, that cause the modern wound of Amfortas, and threaten to transform and reverse mean’s whole being, in spirit, soul and body, and offer it to Sorat, the Sun Demon, Christ’s greatest opponent. The faculties that accomplish this are created when the Sentient Soul is transformed in to the Intuitive Soul, and the fully conscious and exact ‘embodied clairvoyance’ is developed.
The creation of the spiritual seed of the resurrection body in the third part of the bridge of spiritual memory and continuity of consciousness, guarantees man’s future holistic spiritualization, and opens the way to the resurrection and spiritualization of the Earth.
As we pointed out above, during each year since Easter 1975, we develop a special ‘cultus of knowledge’, the perennial foundation of the knowledge drama of the second coming. It is based on the development of the newest, most modern soul force of pure thinking, actualized in the practice of The Philosophy of Freedom. This is the only guarantee that we develop modern spiritual science from its true foundations and do not revert to older, semi-conscious, spiritual practices. We imbue and saturate the new faculty of pure thinking with the meditations of Knowledge of the Higher Worlds, intensified through the meditative path of Occult Science, and regulate it by means of The General Main Exercise. We offer the annual harvest of our work in the 50 days, and let the its spiritual light, guided by pure thinking, radiate to the spiritual world. In this way, we offer annually the fruits of the cultivation of Christ’s gracefully given three golden spirit seeds, developed in the knowledge drama of the second coming, as our freely created individual response.
We actualize the resurrection of consciousness, in spirit, soul and body, thinking, feeling and will, head, heart and limbs, and perceive how He responds to our responses, and how a living dialogue is developed, intensified and enhanced each year, gaining a certain culmination between Easter and Pentecost. (The cosmic cultus and spiritual communion of humanity, celebrated in the earthly-human Sun temple, is described in chapter 4 of the second volume of The Modern Christ Experience and the knowledge Drama of the Second Coming, The Construction of the Third Spiritual-Physical Layer of the Bridge).
Sixth Part: The Creation of the New Earth and Heaven of the Earthly-Human Sun
During the 50 days, the etheric Christ demonstrates, through His present appearance, words and deeds, how He labored in the past 2000 years on the spiritualization of the earth, to make it into His new sun. We learn from Him the spiritual science, art and craft, required to become His co-workers and partners in the building process of the earthly-human Sun, and grow into the new role of creative humans in the present age of Michael.
Essentially, the earthly-human Sun is an extension of the human being, in spirit, soul and body, to the extent that we have actualized Christ’s given forces in the knowledge drama. The New Heaven is created through our spiritualized thinking and sense perceptions, the New Earth through our spiritualized will. And they meet in the middle sphere, when in the new human meetings we create the heart organ of the earthly-human Sun. It this way, the new human meetings and the Michaelic community bring the new Heaven and Earth together, to form the wholeness of the earthly-human Sun.
It is not we, but the Christ in us and among us, who dwells, still largely unrecognized, in all human souls, who let us offer His forces to each other, build the Michaelic community and movement in the 21st century, and add our humble part to the sun becoming of the earth and the formation of the new cosmos of love.
Seventh Part: Christ's Appearance Between 'I' and 'thou’
The seventh part describe how the Christ fulfils His new role in human evolution, as leader and healer of karma. When His appearance, words and deeds weave and live ‘between I and Thou’ and are embodied consciously in human hearts, the human-being Anthroposophia becomes the soul of the Michaelic community and school. But to accomplish this, humans must be able to experience the Christ in each other, not in theory, but in daily life itself. Real brother-and sisterhood can only be actualized in real human meetings; this must be practiced as the new spiritual science, art, craft and cultus of human meeting and community building, in all branches of social life, until it becomes an embodied new life source, and humans begin to become socially creative beings.
In the new Michaelic school and community, humans learn how to meet each other in this way, with enthusiasm and perseverance, dedication and devotion, through years and decades; thus, the older people pass to the younger generations the fertile fruits of their life wisdom. Humans begin to create real life forces, and from one generation to the next, the spirit doesn’t diminish, but is strongly enhanced and deepened. Then the universal-human soul of the Michaelic movement, Anthroposophia, the spirit of active and creative human love, becomes our most intimate and powerful friend and guide, and humans begin to participate in the life and creation of the immense spiritual community in which we live, on earth and in the cosmos.
In this way, ordinary humans become conscious co-creators and partners of the Gods, Michael, and the Christ, and this must take place in the present age of Michael. This is our sacred, earnest, and festive earthly and cosmic birthright and holy duty, which humanity must discover again in our time.
