The Resurrection of the Etheric Christ in the Twenty-first Century is a new possibility of meeting and connecting with the Christ, in His new revelation. Today, He stands beside us in a new way. Since the end of the 19th century, the Christ met a series of trials caused by death and evil forces working through humanity. These forces pushed Him from the etheric world into the physical world and later into a sub-physical grave. The new revelation of the Christ, His resurrected and healing etheric body is a result of overcoming these trials. With the help of the School of Michael, Anthroposophia and deeds of human love, Christ was able to return from these depths and invites us to experience with Him this whole journey. Christ’s new revelation can be realized only if we cognize how the forces of death and evil – which crucified and pushed Him into an evil grave – are working in each one of us, burying Him at each moment into our lower selves. Thus, we can find the Christ in the 21st century by following His footsteps since the end 19th century until today. And if we do so, we can experience how since the beginning of this century, His new revelation is getting stronger every day. In 2008-9, it ‘assume[d] an entirely new etheric form… His recovery was becoming stronger and clearer and He began to appear and to speak in a new way, pointing towards His new revelation.’[1]
The Christ is here. He wishes to teach humanity how to awaken etherically through His ‘direct Christ consciousness’.[2] He is waiting to meet us and invites us to become His partners in the healing and resurrection of humanity and our Old Mother Earth, renewing Her etheric body by transforming ‘the Earth into [His] new Sun.’[3] Thus, this revelation is also a revelation of new a Heaven, Earth and Humanity, a revelation of our newly born home: The Earthly-Human Sun.
The most important goal of Anthroposophy was and is to prepare humanity to achieve a fully conscious experience of, and relationship with the etheric Christ, to experience and understand what began in 1933 as His second coming. But back then (and still today) we failed to do so. Steiner died prematurely and we were asleep when the second coming began. Conversely, at that moment humanity’s heart was possessed by our universal lower self. Since then, it has been and continues to influence us. This apocalyptic beast, which ’works through humanity’s reversed and evil spiritual ‘I’ forces, and gain[s] tremendous power and weight through them’,[4] massively succeeding in its mission during the 20th century.
Then, in 1975, humanity began to awaken to the direct Christ consciousness. This happened not for humanity in large or to a growing number of people. It occurred through an individual human being. Then after decades of spiritual scientific investigation, ’unit[ing] spiritual science with the new revelation of the etheric Christ, and the new etheric Christ revelation with spiritual science’,[5] the Christ consciousness was firmly established on the earth ’in fully awakened earthly consciousness’.[6] This investigation led humanity to discover what actually happened in 1933 when the second coming of the Christ was to become reality among us ’because His recent resurrection from this ’grave of civilization’ makes it possible -to speak for the first time about what He experienced…’[7]
The Resurrection of the Christ in the 21st Century ’is the result of the continuous stream of… deeds of sacrifice’[8] the Christ fulfilled in the 19th and 20th century. These deeds and their results can be described as a threefold progression:
- The Second Mystery of Golgotha at the End of the 19th Century - the etheric crucifixion of the Christ in the etheric world by materialistic thoughts of dying souls
- The Spiritual Event of the 20th Century - the heart attack of the Christ in the physical world and His entombment into a sub-earthly grave at the moment His second coming began
- The Resurrection of the Christ in the 21st Century - The resurrection and healing of the Christ and the birth of the Earthly-Human Sun
- In the end of the 19th century, materialism flourished on earth and in human life and thinking. And when humans died, they brought their materialistic thoughts with them to the life after death, to the spiritual world. This ‘black sphere brought to the spiritual world with the dying souls of the nineteenth century,[9] was received by the etheric Christ into His being in order that He may transform it. But the intensity of the death-forces working in humanity’s materialistic thoughts were too strong. The Christ was crucified in the etheric world by taking these materialistic thoughts into His heart, ’caus[ing], for the angelic being in which the Christ has revealed Himself since the Mystery of Golgotha, ’the death by suffocation’.’[10] This is called the second mystery of Golgotha. As a result, the Christ was banished from the etheric world into the physical world. From then on, He lives here in the physical world as ’an etheric human being’[11] among us. Thus, the Christ entered into an ever-closer relationship to humanity. His new closeness could allow us to awaken spiritually and cognize Him in our midst. This is what the second coming of Christ means: we become conscious of Him through the ‘direct Christ consciousness’.
- In 1933, the second coming of Christ[12] was to happen. Humanity was supposed to awaken to His presence by a new etheric vision, ‘the resurrection of the direct Christ consciousness’[13] resulting from His sacrifice in the second mystery of Golgotha. Steiner was working tirelessly to prepare humanity to be cognize this. But we were not ready. Humanity was not prepared to receive Christ’s gifts. At the same time with the beginning of the second coming, the first beast – the universal lower self of humanity – was released from its captivity.[14] We got mesmerized by its power and instead of the Christ, chose to give it space in our hearts. Then in 1998, humanity became a vessel for the second Beast Sorat. Sorat takes advantage of the unredeemed parts of our lower self, using them in its attempts in destruction of humanity. His magical power seduces humanity by fascinating them by the miraculous healing of the first beast.[15] ’The united power of the two apocalyptic Beasts [that] began to control humanity in 1933-1998’, causes ‘The Twilight of Humanity [in the twentieth Century]’[16]. The Christ, living now in the physical world, took the outcome of the evil deeds we did in the 20th century – inspired by the beast – once again into His heart. The result was not another ’death by suffocation’. This time it was a stronger ’heart attack’.[17] This heart attack pushed the Christ into an evil grave in a lower, sub-earthly realm, farther away from humanity’s reach. Spiritual scientific investigation of the Christ mysteries of today must lead us to face these evil forces in our lower being and then to expand our experience what happened and is happening to the whole humanity.[18] Only if we individualize these mysteries, making them ours by a knowledge-permeated experiencing, gradually maturing to carry them as a part of our expanding being, can we truly say we are seeking the etheric Christ in 21st century.[19]
- If we succeed in following the Christ’s footsteps from the end of the 19th century through 20th century, then in 1999-2000, the spiritual scientific observation finally begins to experience the resurrection and the healing of the Christ. Before this time, incarnated humanity wasn’t sure whether the Christ could recover from His heart attack. But then and today, a new light is shining in the horizon. At the beginning of the 21st century, His healing could be expressed as an image of myriad of ‘tiny ‘acupuncture needles’ that each deed of love contributes to His gradual recovery’.[20] These needles consist of ‘all the deeds of true human love on the earth.’[21] This healing grows in strength each day. In 2008-2010, this new revelation of the resurrection of the etheric Christ, His ‘appearance… has changed in a marked way, in comparison to His appearance in the course of the last century.’[22] In 2017-2019, it has become visible also in the physical world.[23] The results of Christs healing can also be observed from perspective of the etheric body of Earth as a birth of our new home in cosmos: the Earthly-Human Sun. This new revelation of the Christ and His Sun-becoming-of-Earth, becoming of our new home, is Christs new teaching. It is regularly demonstrated in the school of Michael in the etheric world. It is the substance of the lectures given in Wendelsberg in 2019,[24] and should become the teaching of the new Michaelic impulse on the physical earth in the 21st century. ’A full recovery and a fullest revelation of [the Christs] new power of resurrection would be possible only after the first full 3x33 cycle since 1933–45 is completed. This will take place in 2033-2045’.[25] And to accomplish this, to receive the being of Christ into our spirit, soul, and body and share His cosmic-human self to all human souls, is the task of the Global School of Spiritual Science in the next seven years.

[12] Rudolf Steiner pointed out that beginning in the 30s of the last century, a few people will begin to experience the Christ in His etheric appearance, by means of naturally developing etheric perception. The most important thing in the context of our considerations now, is that he also characterized this experience as a kind of natural initiation, insofar as, by its means, these people will gain direct spiritual knowledge of the Christ that until now only the initiates could have. Those human beings who undergo this exceptional initiation, ‘will not require documentary evidence in order to recognize Christ, but they will have direct knowledge as is today possessed only by the initiates’. This development is a result of the inner law that underlies the spiritual evolution of human consciousness. This law states that ‘all the faculties that today can be acquired only by means of initiation will in the future be universal faculties of humanity. [19] The evil forces working in the universal lower self of humanity aim to penetrate the otherwise impenetrable, protected inner soul skin into the sacred and guarded core of humanity. Firstly, their aim is to block the way between the Christ and us and secondly, to take space and expand in and from our hearts to take over our whole being. This crack in the holy of holies of humanity could gradually lead to the corruption of the human I by injecting their own being into the place where the ego copy of the Christ, His I AM is to be received. The result would be a reversed higher self, us becoming vessels of these evil beings. While this attack first occurs to individual humans, the goal is to penetrate and capture humanity as a whole.
